Jay Brandenberger, Ph.D., Higher Education Director, oversees and investigates the role of higher education and community-based learning in fostering ethical development. His research focuses on moral and civic development, social cognition, youth poverty, resiliency, conflict resolution, and related developmental concerns.

Darcia Narváez, Ph.D., studies and has published over 40 books, chapters and articles on moral development and character education. Previously she was a classroom teacher of music K-12 and a middle school Spanish teacher. She is past Director of the University of Minnesota Collaboration for the Study of Ethical Development. She was Design and Research Director for the Minnesota Community Voices and Character Education Project from 1998-2002 and spoke about the project at the 2002 White House Conference on Character and Community.
