Ethical Sensitivity

Sensitivity Sam says: Ethical Sensitivity is about learning to

• Understand other people's emotions
• Express your emotions in the right way for the situation
• Take the perspectives of other people, including people who are very
  different from you
• Because we like what is most familiar to us, learn to open minded to
  viewpoints that are different
• Catch prejudice and stop it
• Figure out what's going on in a situation so you can help
• Communicate well in different ways and settings and with different
  people
• Care for others
• Become multiculturally skilled

The 4 Component Model

1. Ethical Sensitivity - Evidence of concern for others and awareness of the consequences of one's actions.
2. Ethical Judgment - Shows characters deliberating about ethical choices.
3. Ethical Focus - Addresses the ethical demand in the situation, prioritizing moral goals and responsibilities over selfish interests.
4. Ethical Action - Has a character who takes several steps to reach a moral goal and perseveres to complete the ethical action.
